water-based anti-rust primer for metal surfaces

Alkyd anti-rust undercoat for new or previously coated metal surfaces, weathered galvanized surfaces and other exterior and interior metal surfaces. The anti-rust pigments of its organically modified zinc phosphate protect metal surfaces against corrosion and rust. Due to its excellent adhesion on metal and other coated surfaces, AQUARUST can also be used as an intermediate protective layer. Ensures a smooth surface for premium finish.

Preparation

Carefully prepare surface to obtain good results. Remove all weathered coatings, loose materials and grease. Sand and remove sanding residue with a rag.

► Previously painted metal surfaces:
Sand-blast or sand-paper to remove rust. Clean sanding residue. Prime with AQUARUST undercoat, 1-2 coats.

► New metal:
Degrease using THINNER 135 applied with a brush. Prime with AQUARUST undercoat, 1-2 coats.

Use

Roller, brush or spray airless. Thin by 5-15% with water.

Minimum application temperature:5°C.

Drying out - coverage

Drying times are dependent on ambient temperature and film thickness. Touch dry: 1-2 hours. Recoat: 4-6 hours. Practical coverage: 7-11m²/lt depending on the thickness of each coat and the surface porosity.
